Impact

You're doing work someone else should own. And you know it.

You’re a capable leader. But the to-do list keeps growing, decisions keep landing on your desk, and by the end of the week you’re asking yourself why you’re still handling things your team should have taken off your plate months ago. The work isn’t the problem. The delegation is.

Most leaders know they need to delegate more — but not how to do it without losing control, dropping quality, or spending more time explaining than just doing it themselves. So they hold on. And the ceiling gets lower every year.

Leadership Delegation is a 5-module program that gives you a practical, structured system for handing off work with clarity and confidence — so your team grows, your time opens up, and your leadership scales beyond what you can do alone.

Leadership Delegation

Most leaders never master delegation. The cost is hiding in plain sight.

It shows up in the leader who’s still working at 7pm on tasks a team member could have owned by noon. In the project that stalled because accountability was assumed, not assigned. In the high-potential employee who quit because no one trusted them with real responsibility.

Poor delegation doesn’t just slow you down — it signals to your team that you don’t trust them. It stunts their growth, burns out your calendar, and quietly caps the performance of everyone around you. It’s one of the most expensive leadership habits to ignore.

You might recognize this in yourself:

  • You regularly take back tasks you’ve already handed off
  • Your team waits for your approval before moving on almost everything
  • You feel like it’s faster to just do it yourself than explain it to someone else
  • You’re the bottleneck — and you’re not sure how to stop being one
  • You’ve tried delegating and it backfired, so now you’re hesitant to try again
  • Your best people aren’t growing because you’re not giving them room to

These aren’t character flaws. They’re delegation gaps. And this course is built to close them.

Module 5: Delegation as a Development Tool
Shift from using delegation as a task-management tool to using it as a leadership strategy. Learn how intentional delegation builds your team’s capability, increases retention, accelerates succession, and creates a culture where people step up — not wait to be told.

Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve answered the most common questions to help you feel confident before you enroll. From timelines to team options, everything you need is right here.

WHy do so many leaders struggle to delegate?

Most leaders were promoted because they were great at doing the work — not because they were trained to hand it off. The instinct to hold on is natural, but it becomes a ceiling. This course addresses the root causes: the beliefs, habits, and fears that keep capable leaders doing work their teams should own.

In the short term, sometimes. But that logic compounds — every time you skip delegation, your team stays underdeveloped, your calendar stays packed, and your ceiling stays low. This course teaches you how to delegate in a way that actually saves time in the long run and builds a team that can execute without you.

Most delegation failures come down to unclear expectations, the wrong person, or no follow-through structure — not a problem with the person you delegated to. This course gives you a repeatable system that addresses all three, so you can delegate with confidence and get the result you actually need.

Delegation is not task assignment. Effective delegation transfers ownership — the responsibility, the decision-making authority, and the accountability for outcomes. This course teaches the difference, and gives you the tools to make it stick without micromanaging or losing visibility.

This course is designed for leaders and managers at any level who are responsible for the output of others — especially those who feel overloaded, whose teams aren’t operating independently, or who want to scale their leadership impact beyond what they can do alone.

This course builds directly on the foundations established in Cornerstones of Leadership and Shaping Your Leadership Identity. With a clear identity and a solid leadership foundation, delegation becomes the natural next step — the skill that allows leaders to multiply their impact and develop the people around them.

Each week, participants complete 60–90 minutes of self-paced online coursework, then attend a 1–2 hour live, in-person facilitated session. Live sessions include discussion, application exercises, and coaching. The structure is designed for working professionals while ensuring meaningful, accountable development.

By the end of this program, you will have:

  • A personalized delegation system you can implement immediately
  • Clear frameworks for deciding what to delegate and to whom
  • Communication tools for setting expectations and ensuring follow-through
  • Accountability structures that keep work on track without micromanaging
  • A Certificate of Completion and CE credits (where applicable)

Highly practical. Every module includes real-world application, structured reflection, and assignments designed to be implemented immediately within your workplace. The Capstone project requires participants to build a delegation system tailored to their specific role, team, and organizational context.
